A Taste of London is a collection of these drawings, characterized by their appealingly informal lines. These transportive images are intentionally spare, leaving the viewer room to layer on their own meaning and draw connections to their own memories of a place, of a time, of an atmosphere.Featuring an eclectic mix of 100 restaurants—from Moro to The River Café and Honey & Co—this charming collection of drawings is accompanied by interviews with the owners, chefs, and loyal patrons of these much-loved restaurants.

The artist John Donohue is the founder of the website All the Restaurants, where he sells signed, limited-edition fine-art prints of his restaurant drawings. He started in his home city of New York in 2017 and has since visited Paris, London, the Napa Valley, Philadelphia, and other cities. Abrams published his first book of art, "All the Restaurants in New York," in 2019. "A Table in Paris" followed in 2021. "A Taste of London” came out in 2023. He works in ink, from life (standing in front of an establishment), making no corrections. He is also the editor of "Man with a Pan: Culinary Adventures of Fathers who Cook for their Families, a 2011 best-selling anthology featuring contributions by Mark Bittman, Mark Kurlansky, Stephen King, Jim Harrison, and many others. In 2022, Donohue had his first museum show at the Napa Valley Museum Yountville. Sales of his work help support restaurant workers, hunger-relief organizations, and arts-education initiatives. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and daughters and draws at least twice a day. His work is expertly printed by Ocean Art. Before becoming an artist, he was an editor at The New Yorker magazine, where he published a handful of cartoons in the early part of this century.
